This position provides companionship, personal care, companionship to clients of Full Circle.

The Caregiver is responsible for caring for Seniors or Children, and for making empathetic and joyful connections with them. The Caregiver will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care.

Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), Personal Care Worker (PSW), Companion/Caregiver

Responsibilities of the Caregiver include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • 1. Assist with activities of daily living such as
    Personal hygiene – bathing, grooming, dressing
  • 2. Assist with regular exercises
  • 3. Companionship – card/ board games, discussions, reading and plain old fun
    Errands, grocery shopping and escorting the clients to appointments and activities
  • 4. Light housekeeping
  • 5. Meal preparation and help with feeding
  • 6. Medication Reminders
  • 7. Adhering to the Full Circle’s care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
  • 8. Follow all privacy policies of Infection Control protocols and maintain the confidentiality of protected healthcare information (PHI).
  • 9. Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene
Qualifications
  • 1. Desire to spend quality time one-on-one with a client to ensure all care is client-centered;
  • 2. Passion for promoting the health and independence of seniors;
  • 3. Willingness to go the extra mile for your clients;
  • 4. Experience Working with seniors in the home care setting; A minimum of one year full time experience in care giving required;
  • 5. Proper certification for the position for which you are applying i.e. PSW Certificate or National Agency of Career Colleges (NACC) Diploma preferred;
  • 6. Possess a current CPR/ First aid certificate;
  • 7. Proof of legal authorization to work in the Canada required;
  • 8. Negative criminal conviction background check and Vulnerable Sector police check;
  • 9. Up-to-date immunization and TB test;
  • 10. Minimum of three job-related references required, preferably from most recent supervisors;
  • 11. Driving experience for a minimum of 3 years; safe driving record; current driving license and car insurance coverage; and a safe car;
  • 12. Ability to read and follow written instructions in English and document care given;
  • 13. Access to a smartphone in order to utilize GPS clock in/out technology;
  • 14. Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • 15. Empathy for the needs of both the elderly and children.
  • 16. Ability to work with many temperaments and tolerant of cultural differences.
  • 17. Fluency in another language is a strong asset.
